The South Western Railways highlighted that, as part of Phase-1, construction work has commenced on the ‘East Side’, facing platform number one of the railway station. Meanwhile The construction of Multi-Level Car Parking (Ground+5), and ramps for elevated road with arrival/departure plaza are in progress. The redevelopment of Yesvantpur railway station is to upgrade the existing infrastructure at par with the airports. The project will provide a better, comfortable and seamless experience to passenger
The idea of separate arrival and departure points for vehicles is in line with preventing traffic congestion at the railway station. The station will also have a large air concourse (14,800 sqm. in size) which will be on par with the waiting lounge of airports with provision for food courts, retail spaces, business centres etc.
The station would be constructed as per green-building norms, with provision for rain water harvesting, sewage water treatment plants, installing LED lighting and other green initiatives. Sufficient provision would also be made to allow ample natural light and ventilation.
