Harper Blakley led the way with two goals for the Lakers
WEBSTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The Webster girls hockey team earned a convincing 4-1 win over Williamsville South on Thursday night. It was senior night for the Lakers.
Trailing 1-0 early in the 2nd, Webster’s Molly Meyer sniped home their first goal of the game to tie it up. Five minutes later, Harper Blakley corralled a loose puck and sent a missile into the net to put the Lakers up 2-1 into the third period.
94 seconds into the final frame, Ella Buss’ shot deflected off a defender’s skate into the net to push the lead to 3-1. Blakley added another goal with six minutes remaining to add some insurance for the Lakers.
Webster moved to 2-6-1 on the season. Next up for the Lakers is a date with Ithaca on Thursday, February 1st.
