Two labourers arrested for rape of 15-yr-old from another state | Mumbai News
2 min readMumbai police on Sunday registered a rape case and arrested two persons for allegedly having sexual intercourse with a minor girl. The 15-year-old victim had come to the city from another state earlier this week without informing her family, following which a missing persons complaint had been registered for her in her state.
An officer said the girl was friends with a teenager who lived in Mumbai. Recently, the friend called her up saying he had sustained a serious injury to his hand. The girl, without informing her grandmother, came to the city in a train earlier this week.
The girl reached Dadar station but could not find the youngster who had called her. She was crying when the one of the accused, who hails from the same state as hers, spoke to her and got to know she had nowhere to go, an officer said.

The accused took her to his house in the suburbs where he lives with another friend, both labourers. As per the girl’s complaint, they had sexual intercourse with her during the three days when she was with them. Both the accused are adults.
The girl said that eventually a local saw her crying and brought her to the police station on Sunday. Based on her statement, the police registered an FIR on charges of rape and sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, following which they arrested the two accused.
An officer said they also got in touch with the girl’s parents who live separately.
