In the photo, Suriya looks fierce as a tribal man. He is seen wielding a sword and adorned in garlands of bones and teeth of his hunts. Directed by Siruthai Siva, Kanguva is touted to be a historical fiction. It has been made on a huge budget by KE Gnanavel Raja. The film will be released in more than 38 languages, according to the director who is sure of the reception of its content across the world.
Earlier, pictures from the sets of Kanguva were released, where Suriya and Disha Patani were seen in contemporary costumes. This has led to speculation that the film is set in two different timelines. The film also marks Disha’s Tamil debut.
Kanguva will be an important venture in Suriya’s career as it marks his return to the silver screen after a long time. Though he was seen in Kamal Haasan’s Vikram and Madhavan’s Rocketry, Suriya’s last solo theatrical release was Edharkum Thunindhavan in 2022. He didn’t have a release in 2023, and at an event for Karthi’s Japan, the actor said he would make up for it with Kanguva.
