ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Homeowners in Rochester and others impacted by property assessments had another opportunity to voice frustration and ask questions about potential tax increases as the city completes this four-year process.
Many homeowners in Rochester who are reeling over the latest reassessments joined with city council members and activists at the antioch baptist church on Joseph Avenue. News 8 recently heard from a couple whose reassessment nearly doubled this year.
The city says estimates were based on property improvements and nearby home sales.
At tonight’s meeting, neighbors with similar concerns were able to have some of their questions answered, but nothing specific to each homeowner.
According to the city’s website, the last day to schedule a review is February 9. Anyone with questions can learn more by clicking this link.
