New Parliament building constructed following ‘astrologer’s advice’, Sanjay Raut alleges | Mumbai News

2 min read

Shiv Sena (UBT) Sanjay Raut on Sunday slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the new Parliament building saying that it was built after consulting an astrologer who had said that no party can stay in power for over 10 years.

“The government in Delhi is surrounded by superstitions and blind followers. There is an influence of superstition, planets and horoscopes in the minds of those running the country. The present Parliament House will not be auspicious for you after 10 years. No one can remain in power there after 10 years, hence the new Parliament building was constructed. This was the astrologer’s advice and then the new Parliament building was constructed,” Raut said in his weekly column ‘Rokhthok’, published in the Sena (UBT) mouthpiece Saamana.

“Astrologers had also advised that the new building should be gomukhi (cow-faced). The new building was constructed accordingly. On one hand, our scientists have reached the Moon and the leaders of the same country are constructing a new Parliament building out of the fear of losing power. Astrologers and babas rule in Delhi,” Raut said, adding, “The old Parliament building stands proudly in Delhi and nothing will happen to the building for at least 100 years. But something came in the mind of Prime Minister Modi and locked this historical building.”

Sharing his experience in the new Parliament building where he attended the special session convened earlier this week, Raut said, “When I reached there, there was a dilemma. There is only one door for the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha in the new Parliament House. It was just like a multiplex. There is no grace in the new Parliament building which the old building has.”

Raut further attacked PM Modi, alleging that though the old Parliament is in good condition, a new building was constructed by spending Rs 20,000 crore from the exchequer. “The old Parliament House is well maintained but they have erected a platform in front and looted Rs 20,000 crore from the government treasury. The old Parliament House is an inspiring and stunning building. Such buildings do not get dilapidated. Declaring them useless is like calling Mother India old and putting her in an old age home,” he said.
