1 min readVeteran film director KG George, known for his work in Malayalam cinema, has died at the age of 77. According to Manorama Online, he died at an old age home in Kakkanad on Sunday. He was undergoing treatment for a stroke.
The last film he directed was 1998’s Ilavankot Desam. His most prominent films are Panchavadipalam, Irakal, Yavanika, Adam’s Rib and Lekha’s Death in a Flashback. He also helmed films such as Swapnadanam, Akkatad, Kolamal, Mela, Iraala, Yavanika, Lekha’s Death A Flashback Adam’s Rib, Behind the Story, Another, Panchavadipalarn, Ee Kanni Koo.
KG George was born on May 24, 1945 in Thiruvalla as the eldest son of Samuel and Annamma. Full name is Geevarghese George in Kulakkat. He completed his primary education from the Tiruvalla SD School. After graduating in Political Science from NSS College, Changanassery, he completed his film direction course from Pune Film Institute. He entered the film industry as an assistant to famous director Ramu Karyat.
