The parliamentarian, known for his vast vocabulary, also took a dig at the government saying Kartavya Marg has been renamed as “Martavya Marg” meaning deadly road.

The Thiruvananthapuram MP shared graphic images depicting sign boards and wrote, “Not my own creation: this is going around @whatsApp as exasperated Delhiites choke and splutter under an AQI of 462, nearly 19 times the @who safe limit of 25. As someone remarked, ‘no wonder the government has renamed the main road the Martavya Path!”

Tweaking the name of places in Delhi, the sign boards take a dig at the impending problem of air pollution. Instead of Lutyens’ Delhi, a sign board says Pollutyens’ Delhi, Haze Khas instead of Hauz Khas. Dhua Kuan in place of Dhaula Kuan and Chandni Choke instead of Chandni Chowk.

Netizens weighed on the ongoing situation in the comments section. A user commented, “everything should be done to reverse the smog and free the air to breathe.” Another user commented, “Funny but terrible to think of it.” A third user commented, “It’s shameful that even after 2 decades of various folks at the centre/state that we have no solution.”
