Bramayugam: Mammootty joins forces with Bhoothakaalam director Rahul Sadasivan | Malayalam News
2 min readMalayalam superstar Mammootty on Thursday took to Twitter to announce his upcoming film titled Bramayugam. The movie is directed by Bhoothakaalam fame Rahul Sadasivan and produced by Nigh Shift Studios and YNot Studios.
The actor also shared a poster of the film, which features a haunted mansion and a man walking towards it with a torch. The sky behind the mansion is teeming with haunting figures with and without faces. The mansion, the sky, and everything in the poster come together to produce an overarching image of a face.
Mammootty also announced that the shoot has begun today.

Rahul Sadasivan, the film’s writer-director, said in a statement, “I am elated to be living the dream of directing the stalwart Mammookka. Bramayugam is a rooted story set in the dark ages of Kerala, and I am glad to be backed by the producers in pushing the boundaries of making this into an immersive film experience. I hope it will be a treat to Mammookka’s fans and fans of the genre across the world.”
Night Shift Studios has been established just for producing horror films, and it starts its journey with Bramayugam. “We are honoured and thrilled to have the legendary Mammookka in our inaugural production. The unparalleled image of Mammookka is set to bring life to what is going to be a spectacular cinematic experience. Bramayugam is a promising world created by our director Rahul along with a talented cast and crew,” said producers Chakravarthy Ramachandra and S. Sashikanth.

The film went on floors in Kochi, and it will be shot in Ottapalam as well.
Bramayugam also stars Arjun Ashokan, Sidharth Bharathan and Amalda Liz in prominent roles, with Shehnad Jalal as the director of photography, Shafique Mohammed Ali as the editor, and Christo Xavier as the music composer. The movie is expected to be released in the first quarter of 2024. It will be released in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi languages simultaneously.
