BJP beats Modi trumpet, campaign song focuses on PM, schemes | Political Pulse News

3 min read

FIRMLY IN poll mode now, the BJP released its official campaign video and slogan at a first-time voters’ conclave organised by the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BYJM), which was all about re-electing Narendra Modi to power.

In a press note released with the video, the BJP said the campaign had “emerged organically from among the people” and spoke of “mass sentiment”. The theme of “this new campaign also complements the ongoing national fervour building in consonance with the Modi Ki Guarantee mass movement,” the press note added. The main themes of the song ‘Tabhi toh sab Modi ko chunte hain… (That is why everyone chooses Modi)’.

* Delivery on welfare promises

If the BJP’s earlier rallying call was Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas, the refrain of the latest campaign song — “Sapne nahin hakikat bunte hain, tabhi toh sab Modi ko chunte hain (He weaves reality, not dreams. That’s why everyone chooses Modi)” — is delivering on that promise. The visuals throughout the song tie up this idea. The opening shot is of women cooking on earthen stoves, with no electricity, with the corresponding vocals saying that for years, the country was “behaal (in a bad condition)”, until the “pragati (progress)” of the Modi era kept its “vaada (promise)”. The visuals then go on to illustrate these promises — such as delivering on mega infrastructure projects and successful implementation of the UPI system, among others.

* The ‘Vishwaguru’ image

A line in the song says that the PM thinks of “Bharat” as his own “maata (mother)” and describes the PM as choosing “kaam (work)” over “naam(name)” – the reason the world “listens” to him. At this point, the song cuts to videos of Modi’s meetings with world leaders at various forums, including the G20 Summit which India hosted in September. At another point the song hails that the country has been brought to the “shikhar (peak)” of the world.

* Women

The campaign has multiple shots of women going to school and becoming entrepreneurs. It also highlights women athletes, including boxer Nikhat Zareeen who won the gold at the World Boxing Championship last year, and declares, “Bharatiya naari vishwa pe bhaari (The Indian woman dominates the world)”.

Festive offer

* Common people’s journeys

Other standout images in the video are of the PM’s interaction with citizens, whether it is potters, tailors, or sanitation workers. The song says that every jawaan (soldier) and kisan (farmer) now wears the “tilak (pride)” of the country. There is also focus on youth and technology making people “atmanirbhar (self-reliant)”. Alongside this there is emphasis on the progress of India scientifically. The Chandrayaan mission is showcased prominently.

* Religion

The release of the campaign song was timed three days after the consecration of the Ram Temple, a project that has been very close to the BJP and its journey to become the formidable party it is today. The video ends with the PM praying to the Ram Lalla idol. At the same time, the video has several images of his interactions with the Sikh community.
