ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Rochester’s hockey team took some time off the ice Monday to volunteer at Foodlink.
The food distribution site hosts many organizations and volunteers who want to give back to the community throughout the year.
Members of the Amerks said they were happy to bag and then box hundreds of apples.
“They go to what’s called to our pop-up pantry programs,” said Foodlink Marketing Director Mark Dwyer. “These are more rural food distributions that happen a couple times a day all throughout the 10 counties that we serve.”
Members of the Amerks got to see other parts of the Foodlink facility, including the community kitchen.
