1 min readA man identified as Bobikumar Indrekar, a resident of Sardarnagar in Ahmedabad was arrested by Crime Branch officials on Friday for his alleged possession of marijuana weighing 9.3 kilogram, worth Rs 93,440, as per police.

According to the official statement, the accused has been selling ganja wholesale for a long time. The accused left Ahmedabad on Tuesday morning on a train to meet Siddh Ramesh Tamayche (supplier) in Maharashtra and purchased marijuana from him at a rate of Rs. 10,000 per kg.
“After getting his consignment from Maharashtra, he couldn’t sell it further to people as we raided his house in Sardarnagar based on intel,” said Bharat Katariya, police inspector, Ahmedabad Crime Branch.
Indrekar has been charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act Sections 8 (C) (cultivating opium poppy or any cannabis plant), 20 (B) (produces, manufactures, possesses, sells, purchases, transports, imports inter-State, exports inter-State or uses cannabis) and 29 (criminal conspiracy).
